Absolutely not. It can, however, be a symptom of something called Metabolic Syndrome. You should make an appointment with an endocrinologist who is familiar with and knows how to treat it. A very large percentage of women who have PCOS also have Metabolic Syndrome, which is dangerous if not treated properly, but if treated properly is very manageable. I have both.
