Hard time gaining?!

Question:

Hard time gaining?

Okay, so I'm 15, five ft. one in., weigh maybe somewhere in the low-90s, but I've lost my period due to a bout with anorexia last year. I'm taking pills to get my period back and eating more than I ever have before. I do feel bad for eating so much, though. Today for lunch, we had leftover pizza. If I drink milk, I usually eat only one slice, but if I have water, I have two. I drank milk so I planned on one but my brother got all mad and that I was going anorexic again and he just wouldn't try to listen to me when I said one slice was normal for me. Sometimes I think he's trying to make me gain so he can feel better about being a little overweight. I hate thinking that way but that's how it seems. My doc. told me I'm naturally small-framed, but I'm scared that if I eat so much (I ended up eating two slices with milk), I won't be that way anymore. I don't want to say this but I don't want to be like my brother...does anyone know what I mean?

One slice was pretty big and the other was smaller...pretty much average size. I keep feeling guilty because if I was going to eat two slices, I should've eaten two smaller ones, but one of the smaller ones barely had any veggie topping on it.

Answers:

If you're naturally small framed, you will always be small framed. Weight gain is a different thing all together. In order to gain a noticeable amount of weight, you'd have to eat more than that. Being as thin as you are, I wouldn't worry about it. My whole family is small framed and thin.

My sister is 28, 5'3" and anywhere between 95-110, I forget. She picks a lot when eating, but eats. I'm 23, 5'9" weigh 130 lbs and lately I gained a little because I've really pushed myself to gain. It's a constant effort and a lot of work for me to gain because I have high metabolism, which you most likely do as well. I basically have to eat about 4,000 calorie a day to gain weight and as much as I want to, sometimes it's tough. People often are jealous that I can eat whatever I want and as much as I want with minimal effect. But it sucks when you're trying to gain and can't.

You will always be small framed. And you shouldn't worry about gaining too much weight. Small-frames are harder to add to when it comes to pounds. Of course you can add weight, but it's tougher. Work out. Eat healthy if you're worried about that, but don't limit yourself to such small amounts of food.

I wouldn't worry about "not being that way anymore." Eat.
