Why don't I get my period?!?!

Why don't I get my period?!?
I'm 20 years old. I had my first period (spotting) when I was 13... since then i've got it about once or twice a year. I've been to the obgyn for a pelvic exam... everything was fine.... blood was drawn to check hormone levels.... everything was fine again.... I had a sonnogram... that also came back to normal. Every doctor recommends me taking the "pill"... however this doesn't really solve my problem. Does anyone else my age have this problem, does anyone know any other medical problems I should look out for? I'm really puzzled.

I already went on the pill last year.... my doctor thought it would jump start my period.... I stopped it after 6 months... I got it once, and never again after that.

If your body fat is less than 10% of your weight, you will not have a normal cycle. If this is not the problem, then some type of hormone therapy might be appropriate. I assume that you are worried about fertility. Be careful what you wish for.
