Why do doctors always ask when your last period was, when the visit isn't even r!


Question:

Why do doctors always ask when your last period was, when the visit isn't even related to reproductive issues?

For example, one time i went to the E.R. because I needed stitches in my foot. Why did they ask when my last period was? How is that relevent?

If its to check for pregnancy why don't they just ask, "is it possible that you are pregnant?"

they have never asked how regular it is. they only ask when the last one was.

its not! i had an ear ache and they asked me if i had my period yet..i said yes but i dont have it out of my ear! its not right! and its not like every woman is preggers when we go to the ER either. if they want to know if we are pregnant then ask us. " ma'me did you have your period,"
