IUD and having periods every 2 weeks...anyone have answers?!

Question:

IUD and having periods every 2 weeks...anyone have answers?

I have had an IUD (the regular copper kind no hormones) for about 4 and half years now and Ive had normal and pretty predictable periods up until about 2 months ago. I started having an actual 7 day period every two weeks. I really dont know what to do. Im wondering if it could be the lack of hormones. Anyone experience the same?

Answers:

Could be hormonal changes in your body due to stress, diet or many other factors. I would consult your doctor if it is a concern, if it's not a concern I would just continue to track it until your next visit.
My sister who has a copper IUD does have her period about every 2 weeks, but hers is more like spotting. It has been that way for her since insertion though.
I wish I could help you more, but I have the Mirena and I have not had that problem...yet anyway.
