I feel faint and have extreme nausea, and actually faint before my period. Whats!

Question:

I feel faint and have extreme nausea, and actually faint before my period. Whats wrong? Any one else?

I started my periods at 12, and am now 35. Since age 12 I have had severe nausea, extreme tiredness and excessive thirst before my period which ends up in me actually fainting and loosing conciousness for a bit. I have been to my doctor loads of times and he hasn't helped and just put me on to Moderate 25 (water tablet) but only wants me to take one if I feel faint. They used to work quite well, but just lately I am getting much worse. Can anyone help me sort out whats wrong please? I'm really worried. I also think I'm infertile as been married 10 years and no babies!!

Answers:

Sounds like you're anemic. Have you ever had your blood tested for this? Anemia symptoms are fainting, heart racing, weakness, fatigue, and infertility.
You should ask for hemoglobin, ferritin and foltate blood tests. Even a slight iron deficiency can be very serious.

Symptoms: shortness of breath, dizziness, palpitations, lethargy, weakness, recurrent colds, loss of appetite, skin palor, heavy periods, mood swings.
