I didnt get my period last month when should I take a test if my periods are iregular?

I've been having unprotected sex with my husband and last month I didnt get my period. My periods are irregular and I took the test 45 days after the first day of my last cycle and still came out negative.

take another over the counter test...if it says negative wait a few more days see if you get it then if not id go to the doctor and get a pregnancy test done that way and if you are trying to get pregnant figure out when u ovulate...if ur nto trying to get pregnant well id go on the pill to regulate ur period.....but remember the more u stress about it.....it wont come....stress can delay it even more so try to just stay calm and not think about it to much.....
