Birth Control Shot After One Week?!

Question:

Birth Control Shot After One Week?

I'm 18, never been pregnant and just started taking the birth control shot (depo provera) on june 23 which was a week and a half ago. I had sex three times since I took the shot in which the last time was unprotected...but I don't think we conceived a baby because he pulled out before he "came"... as a matter of fact he didn't "come" at all. Anyway, this is also my FIRST time using birth control. My period should be coming on the 5th of july and I need to know what to expect. Will it be late??? Should I expect it to even come AT ALL??? How irregular will it be??? Things of that nature. Also please don't be rude. Don't answer the question if you don't even know for sure because I take every answer seriously.
~THANKS~

Answers:

Oh hunny I wish you had never gotten the shot! I have had 6 or 7 friends who have gotten this and it has all but ruined their bodies!! Almost all of them gained between 10 and 20 pounds on it and when they came off of it they have all had terrible times getting back to having a regular period at all. I have one friend who still after two years doesn't ovulate correctly and only gets her period once every 40 days or so. I stand up and appluade you for getting on birth control but if I were you I wouldn't get the next shot and find another kind of birth control that works for you. If you are worried about taking pills and forgetting or something like that the new ring they came out with works really well. It's low dose and easy to insert. You put it in for a month and then you take it out for your period for 7 days and then a new one goes in. It's very safe and you don't have to worry about forgetting a pill or anything like that! It is your choice but I would strongly strongly recommend that you try a different knd of birth control. Good luck darlin!
