Problem down there? Don't know what's happening?!

Question:

Problem down there? Don't know what's happening?

Keep waking up in morning and when I sit up or stand up it feels like water is leaking out of me but there's nothing there?

I've been bleeding lightly for the past 4 months straight. Came off the pill the other day to see if bleeding stops but no luck yet. I'm 18, do you think there is something seriously wrong?

Could I be pregnant? I have sex regularly with my bf but was on pill for a year before coming off the other day.

Additional Details
I've spoken to my mum and my doctor always says that I need to lose weight. She's put me on 2 pills a day instead of 1 because I was bleeding non stop when I first went on it. Also got sent for blood test and put on iron tablets because I was anemic. That was a couple months before Christmas.

Answers:

A lot of teen girls go on the pill to help regulate their cycles...some it works, some it doesn't, some need to try other pills.

You didn't mention if your doctor is a family practitioner or a gynecologist. My suggestion would be that if you haven't seen a gynecologist for this problem, you probably should. They can do ultrasounds and hormone level testing to find out more of a cause for your constant spotting.

I would doubt that you are pregnant at this time (double up on that birth control...make him wear a condom too..especially since you went off the pill)...but I think further evaluation at this point would be important to find out the cause...and not just treat the bleeding.

The conditions that come to mind just from your description are: Endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome, both of which an ultrasound can confirm or rule out...and there are treatments for both, probably best carried out through a gynecologist.

Continue your iron tablets, and continue monitoring your blood counts just like your doctor is doing...but next time you're in, ask him/her what other evaluation could be done to help stop the bleeding...and not just treat your anemia.
