HPV? Looking for answers.?!

Question:

HPV? Looking for answers.?

My doctor called this morning and told me that my lab results came back positive for HPV. I have been having numerous problems in the past such as UTI's, & Bacterial Vaginosis. Does HPV cause these things, and what exactly am I to expect being that I have it? My discharge is abnormal right now and has been for the past 2 days. Do I need to do anything differently? Please help, I feel like this may be ruining my life.

I just found out 3 weeks ago that I have HPV...and I think it's weird because I had bacterial vaginosis and I do get UTI's a lot...weird...but I got the UTI's before I was diagnosed.

You can search and search and search for answers but nothing will make you feel better right now...I should know...I'm so terrified...I'm in the midsts of losing my bf because of this...and I'm just scared as heck.

The colposcopy really isn't that bad...if they give you the pain killers. It just feels like a pinch and you will feel like you have a cramp (like you would during a period) for a few days. They will put liquid bandaid on it to protect it and you will get discarge that is kinda a black color...don't worry...it's normal. It's just the liquid bandaid. What my doctor is hoping is going to happen is that when my body goes to heal my little...well...scratches on the cervix I think you can call it...that my body will notice that "Hey....this isn't supposed to be here" and try and heal the infection. She said it will take 8 months to a year if my body decides to do this. You can take immune boosters and all to help you.

Just to make yourself feel better...at least this did for me...HPV is VERY VERY VERY common. It's so common in fact that dogs get it. Every person on this planet will get HPV at one time or another...it just all depends on what kind of strand it is...most people get it but their body treats it like a virus (like it would a cold) and get rid of it. There are hundreds of strains of HPV but only a very slight few (few meaning maybe 3) cause cancer and only 2 of them cause genitle warts (which I'm waiting to get my tests back from my colposcopy last week...and I'm hoping I don't have this one).

Look it up...ask questions...this is the only thing that has helped me calm down.
