Nipples/Areola?!

Nipples/Areola?
What is the difference? I have pink areola but no distinction on where the nipple is. Could someone explain?

The nipple is the part that stands out and becomes erect (hard) when you are cold, excited, etc. - contrary to what the other answerer said, milk comes mostly from the areola. anyway, if your nipples don't stand up above you areola, you could have inverted nipples, which can happen. It's not a cause for alarm though. Sometimes there is a difference in color between the two and sometimes there isn't.
