Rape or Not?!

Question:

Rape or Not?

I asked this question a few days ago, but some people were not sure on the details and I want to try to get more responses.
I went to the gyno and when I was there, the doctor stuck a couple fingers into my vagina. He put a gel on them and he was not wearing a glove. There was no nurse in the room. He saw that I was uneasy so he told me to relax. He pumped them in and out a few times (when I say pump, it was almost like having sex with his fingers), then patted me on the tummy. At first I was uneasy, and then I relaxed and started to enjoy it. Then he told me I was in "good working order" and that it was necessary that I came in again very soon. Then he winked. Was that rape, or just part of the procedure?

Answers:

I work in health care and I believe that was rape. First, there should always be a female nurse in the room if the Dr. is male. Second, he should have been wearing gloves. A universal standard in health care is to treat everyone like they are contagious with some disease and there for we always were gloves. Third, he basically fingered you. A routine exam feels nothing like what you do with your boyfriend. It's suppose to be very clinical and quick. Personally I would report this to the American Medical Association. I'm sure you are afraid, afraid maybe you are wrong and just misunderstood the situation. The fact that you are on here asking our opinions about what you went through, proves you believe you were assaulted and therefore what he did was wrong. You probably are not the first and unless you take action to stop the pervert, you won't be the last. Take care and good luck.
