I am 11, turning 12 in September. My weight is under weight for an average grade 6/7er. My breasts havn't develeped as much as my other friends who are the same age as me. They are still a little flat, but are slowly growing. Will this have an affect on when my period will arrive? What is the normal age for a period to come and which grade will this arrive in?

The age of menarche (on average) is 12.7 years. Menarche means your first menstruation or period. You must have at least 17% body fat for your body to start forming period needed hormones, which is about 100 pounds in body weight. This by no means says you are not normal, but those are the averages for girls in America.
