There are other options other than Tampons that most women have never heard of. I'm a personal fan of "Instead". Instead is a diaphragm like cup that is inserted into the vagina and holds the menses until you use the restroom then the cup is emptied out. You cannot feel it like you can the tampon and sometimes I forget that I'm on my period. Check it out at the site below. Try it, I know you will like it.
