Girls, help me out please!?!

Question:

Girls, help me out please!?

ok, i'm on birth control, but only for my period. i used to have cramps so bad that i could barely walk, i got nauseous (sp), i couldn't go to school, and i couldn't sleep on the first 2 days of my period. since last month (when i started taking them) it hasn't been as bad as it used to be, but i'm still getting really bad cramps, i'm taking 3 advils to relieve my cramps, and i have to sit down a lot. so does this mean i need a stronger prescription? or should i wait a few more months?

Answers:

Some people take a few months to fully adjust to their birth control. If you think it's something else though, give your doctor a call and ask him if he thinks you should switch pills. He'll most likely tell you to wait about three months. In the meantime, take some ibuprofen for the pain, get a heating pad (they are great!), do some sit-ups/crunches in the weeks before your period (strengthening these muscles helps a lot), and then just take it easy when you actually get your period. Good luck!
