Is there anything that can be done to help with extremely heavy periods?!

Question:

Is there anything that can be done to help with extremely heavy periods?

There are large clots and an extreme amount of blood. Can anything be done to make them lighter? Would the pill help? If so which one? Also, is the possibility of pregnancy still there?
For those of you who know me. This question is not about me. I'm fine and the baby is fine. So please don't worry. Thank you, everyone.

Answers:

If the person always has heavy periods or usually has them then yes the pill can be extremely helpful. Almost all B.C. pills will help but Im sure the doctor will give you the one he or she thinks is best for you. The pill will dramatically lessen the flow and the days your period lasts. A friend of mine had the same problem and it turned out she had endometriosis, birth control pills have helped her greatly and she has still went on to concieve when her and her husband were ready twice despite her condition and all babies were healthy and fine. Hope this helps!!
