i would like to find out more as im thinking of haveing one

I was referred for one after losing about 10 stone in weight and maintaining that for 2 years plus. The Consultant was happy to put me on the waiting list as he said I was an ideal candidate, but the PCT refused to pay. They have a set criteria which I met, but they still refused my appeal. I did a
Freedom of Information enquiry to see how many they had funded and they had had about 7 referrals over the past 2 years and had refused every single one. I didn't bother trying to appeal it further and I am now looking at having it done privately.
