I am undergoing menopause and I feel so emotional. How can I deal with this overly emotional state?

It is a really emotional time for women. Try to remember that what your are going through is normal and not a sickness or disease, as popular culture would have you believe. Some people do benefit from exercise, I like yoga for many reasons, mostly because it doesn't make you sweat, and that is a good thing for ladies with hot flashes. I believe that a good doctor, I go to a woman doc for almost everything, is the key to dealing with the stress of this life change. I personally take Prozac, for other reasons as well, but I think it really helps me deal with the emotional ups and downs of menopause. There is no shame in taking a med to help yourself over the rough patches of life. Try to stay informed about what your body is doing, and join an online group of other women going through the same thing. It does help to know you aren't alone in what you are dealing with, and it helps to have other view points. It also helps to find humor in the situation, I receive a newsletter from Minnie Pauz, try to find it, it's a riot. Hope this helps, and remember that this doesn't last forever.
