Ladies, I have a question about the IUD.?
I am thinking about using the IUD. I really cannot afford to get preg in the next 3yrs. Please tell me what you know about this method. How likely does the horrible side effects happen. I do not want to be sterial but I cannot afford to have another baby, It will ruin my career, and hurt my family more than it will help us. Help please.....

First of all this is the wrong place to ask your question...you are going to receive biased opinions. Please do your research, speak with your doctor, and decide what you want with your body.
I have not had any side effects from my MIrena IUD. The benefits for me have been wonderful, and I will do it again. I have no worries (like you I did have concerns and reservations before getting it, but no longer).
My sister has a copper IUD that she has had for over 6 years now. She has never had a single problem or bad experience with it. She was in a situation that sounds similar to yours, and she also believes it has been a wonderful experience for her.
The truth is it does not matter what question you ask the general population you will always here the most negative stories there are...They are what sticks out in people's mind.
Make sure when you do your research you search for UNbiased opinions and material that tell all sides of the story.
