Girls only please!?!

Question:

Girls only please!?

This may sound like an awkard question, and it is,but I don't know how to insert a tampon.I have tried and tried and tried, and every time ends up with me being sick and frustrated and upset that I can't do it, and many wasted tampons.I have the slender ones or whatever, and I've read the instructions many times over, but I can't get it right.Maybe I'm not relaxed enough? But I do know, that I don't exactly know where the opening is though, and I guess that's easily the problem.Of course, I only try when it's that time, but it doesn't work, and I can't get it in properly, and it just hurts.Having to wear pads has made me lose my freedom, and I can't do a ton of things because of it. For example, when we went to Mexico, I had it, and I tried and tried, and couldn't get it, so I couldn't swim until the very last day.It frustrates me a ton. If anyone can please help me?My mom and sister and friends have tried to explain it to me,but I don't know enough details or something. Please help!

And also, it probably makes a difference that I'm a virgin. But I really want to try tampons. It will give me more freedom, and as my friend said, they make you feel more cleaner, and like there's no mattress down there. I want to try something new, and this will make things so much more conveinient, if I could only do it properly. :(

And I'm 15, and don't have a boyfriend atm, btw.

Answers:

It sounds like you have a thick hymen, it is a a little piece of tissue that covers the opening of your vagina. Since you are a virgin it has not been broken yet so that could be part of the problem. If you are not sure where your opening is take a mirror and have a look at yourself down there and see whats what. You could even try inserting a tampon in front of mirror to help you see what you are doing. Don't feel bad about this I had trouble my first few times too, I think every woman has. You will get the hang of it eventually! You could try lubricating the tip of the tampon as well for easier insertion, and once it is inserted push it in as far as it will go comfortably. If it is not in far enough it will be uncomfortable, you should not feel it at all. Using the smallest size is important as well. Make sure you are completely relaxed and insert the tampon slowly! If you tense up it will tighten your vaginal muscles and you won't be able to get it in. So just RELAX! and don't worry it will happen! Good Luck!!
