What could cause pink spotting 5 days after my period ends?!

Question:

What could cause pink spotting 5 days after my period ends?

I was taking Alesse BC pills and started 9 days early with it. I spotted/bled lightly for 9 days and then stopped on the day I should've actually started. 5 days later I noticed a gob of pink discharge with a few little (sorry, TMI) veiny pieces of matter on the toilet paper. I'm also cramping lightly again. I stopped taking the BC early and was just going to skip a month. My question is, what could cause the pink discharge/cramping 5 days after my period ended?

I've been taking Alesse for almost a year. However, I did not start a new pack after starting my period early so I'm no longer on the pill.

I should clarify that I did not start my period early on purpose. It was completely breakthrough bleeding but when it went from just spotting to all out bleeding I stopped the pill 2 days early.

Answers:

it's a well known fact that the pill can cause break through bleeding/ovulation along with other side effects like pregnancy, weight gain, blod clots, stroke, mood swings, and PE. It's best to be under a doctor's care if you are going to stop/start the pill so as not to encounter any problems.

I'd call your gyn.
