is it normal to have to urinate frequently before a period? I know for a fact that I am not pregnant but the past few days it seems like I have had to pee constantly. I am on birth control but have been for over 4 years and never felt like this before a period.

A few weeks ago I had pain on my left side but it went away after a few weeks. It doesn't hurt when I pee but it just seems like I have to go every 10 minutes.

You should get checked to see if you have a urinary tract infection.
Do you have any pain when you go to the bathroom? They can check to see if you have a UTI just by getting a urine sample.
It's important to get it checked out (especially if you have never had one before) because if you don't then the UTI can turn into a bladder infection.
