DIU,,,, now that i kinda know what it is... should i still get it?!

Question:

DIU,,,, now that i kinda know what it is... should i still get it?

I still havn't got to talk to my bf about it yet about going on birth control but we've talked about it awhile ago.

There are many more questions to ask myself b4 i do such an event.

1. since my parents are divoreced and i live with me mom my dad doesn't know much about my life. but he has the insureance so if I want the insureance to help cover the $$$ then my father will need to find out. DO i just save up the money or do i tell him?

2. Is the right type of birht control for me. My Bf's mom and I talked once liek last week and she wants me to get on the pill. She (nor I until today) doesn't know about my medical history in my family. My mom told me that when she went on the pill she experienced horrible cramps so bad that she couldn't control them with meds and she couldn't walk. and my mom wants me to get DIU. or do i not listen to either of them and go my own way?

3. and much much more....

Help me plz!!!!!

love ?confused?

Answers:

Birth control is personal and just cos your mom got cramps does not mean you will. The pill is hormones while the IUD Intra Uterine Device is a bit of metal or plastic you put in the womb to prevent your body from allowing conception. IUD are hard work, you don't just set and forget, also they are less reliable than the pill for many people so using condoms as well is to be recommended. The advantage of IUD's is they don't mess with your hormone levels. Either way it is important that girls understand that condoms are good at preventing infections and leave you cleaner after sex than any other contraceptive, also they have less side-effects. When you wish to become pregnant there is no delay or risk of trouble conceiving from condoms. Guys are lazy, but you can always make them put one on if you brought it with you! Sex with it on is way better than no sex at all!
Dads are great to talk to about these sorts of things because after they get used to the idea that their little baby is going to have sex one day (this can be a shock) they are the first to want you to be safe and NOT pregnant at a young age. Dads know what guys are like, they always pay for stuff like the pill or IUD's or condoms. Try not to let yourself get pressured to have sex before you are ready, having said that some girls are ready much sooner than others, its an individual choice.
