Why did my period change so drastically?
I was diagnosed with PCOD last year ( I am 34 yrs old). My husband and I have one child (12 yrs old) and we have been trying to conceive for about 10 years with no luck. I have always had abnormal periods; skipping them for a few months then having them last for weeks. The longest cycle I had was about 3 years ago and lasted 51 days and I had lost over half the blood in my body and I was hospitalized then had a D&C to stop the bleeding. I was put on birth control about a year ago, my Dr. will start me on fertility drugs next month. My periods have been fairly regular for the last 6 months with 5-7 days of bleeding with a steady flow. My last cycle though, only lasted a few hours and was black. No odor. What could be wrong?
