Answers:

It's "normal" and healthy to be on an anti-depressant if you're depressed.

Please, do NOT stop taking your medication on your own!! That's extremely dangerous in several ways.

There are several anti-depressants available besides Prozac, some with few or no side effects. Your family doctor will likely not be aware of any of them except the ones that his friendly drug-pusher (sales rep) carries. If you're unhappy with the effects of the Prozac, ask for a referral to a licensed psychiatrist. Psychiatrists are M.D.'s who are specially trained to know what effect different drugs have on your mood

Good luck, and God bless.
