Has anyone ever been misdiagnosed with bi polar disorder and?

And it turned out to be hormones because of a total hysterectomy? Menopause?
I can't take hormones and have had horrible fluctuations in moods/emotions. Doc had put me on meds that didn't work made it worse...is anyone a doc that can give me any advise so I don't think I'm crazy?

Honestly, I worked at a psychiatric hospital for quite a few months, and when people came in who either didn't really have anything wrong iwth them or were just depressed (or were sent there by a warrant or court order), they were all diagnosed as bipolar.

I think bipolar is just the easiest thing for drs to diagnose someone with because it doesn't require narcotics.
