Big blood clot type thing (graphic)???
This is a little graphic, but I can not think of any other way to describe this. I am using the Ortho Evra patch, and usually start my period 2 days after i remove the last one with a big gush. Well, this month was different. It was 3 days later, and kind of light. Then, the evening of the 2nd day, I got a huge cramp/pain in the left side of my uterus area, and passed a what looked like a blood clot at first. Then, on closer examination, the clot came open, and inside was a harder mambrane like blob. My period has been now very light, and some cramping ( a little more than usual, and always on the left). I am wondering if this is normal, or could it have been a clot from the patch, or even a miscarriage? Any thoughts?
Answers:
It may have been a miscarriage, but it also may have been a corpus luteum rupture or even your fallopian tube expelling something.
Any of the above needs medical attention, so call your ob/gyn (or his nurse) and letthem know about it.
