Messed up birth control cycle?!

Question:

Messed up birth control cycle?

The other day I realized that I had forgotten a pill (first time in 2 years) so I doubled it up with my other one. I started my period that same evening even though I had 6 more active pills to go in my cycle. I called the Walgreens pharmacy and they told me to to let my period run it's course this week and stop taking the pills and then next Sunday begin a new pack. The only thing is, I've heard lots of other people say to just ignore the bleeding and keep up with my cycle AND this morning the bleeding had stopped after only one day.

If anyone with some sort of professional experience in this could let me know the best course of action that would be great! Answers from people without medical experience is appreciated too :-)

PS I take Orthocyclen, the kind that has the same hormone dose for every day of active pills.

Answers:

If "lots of other people" are doctors or pharmacists, then call your doctor who prescribed the pills and ask what to do.

If the other people are not doctors or pharmacists, I would do as the pharmacist suggested.
