Gardasil-early/late-what will happen...?!

Question:

Gardasil-early/late-what will happen...?

My first shot was May 7th, and I'm due for my second shot July 7th, which is this up coming Saturday. Since the immunizations clinic at LRMC isn't open on weekends, what will happen if I get the second dosage of the Gardasil HPV vaccine too early, or too late?

Answers:

You must contact the clinic with this question. They will probably tell you there is a "safe window" of about a week regarding being early or late. Please be aware Gardasil is a new vaccination intended to immunize you against 4 of the over 30 sexually-transmissible kinds of HPV; these 4 types cause most of the cervical cancer and genital warts out there. You can still get cervical cancer and genital warts even if you take this vaccination; however, being vaccinated may save your life someday. Also be aware that it is not known whether, several years in the future, a "booster" may be required to keep your immunity (like a tetanus booster).
