If you contact the Nursing and Midwifery council and also look on their website it should give details of general qualifications needed. With direct entry training to midwifery now available (ie you don't need to train as a nurse before hand) they usually request minimum 5 GCSE's at C+ (to include English and Maths). Individual universities will add further criteria (usually HND or A levels in relevant subjects) as shortlisting criteria, but you would need to check that with the university you want to apply to train through as it varies on an individual basis. Your work experience alone will not be a sufficient qualification, but it may give you an advantage over other applicants. Good luck with it. If it's anything like Northern Ireland, they usually advertise for training posts in January or February of each year.
