Starting the birth control pill in the middle of your cycle?!

Question:

Starting the birth control pill in the middle of your cycle?

I started the pill in the middle of my cycle. My period was supposed to have come yet but it hasn't. Could the pill have delayed my period to align with when I have to take the sugar pills ? Or did I skip a month or possibly be pregnant? I took a test but it came out negative.

Answers:

The pills totally overrides your natural cycle, and replaces it with the cycle controlled by the pills. You will have a withdrawal bleed when you take the sugar pills.

It's normal to get some breakthrough mid-cycle bleeding during the first three months when starting any new birth control pill, and sometimes no bleeding at all.
