I need help???

I made an apt with my obgyn for infertility its a consulation apt i just found out they all they do is referals. Do i need to make an apt at the fertility clinic now instead? I'm confused really bad?? We've been ttc for 23 months and i've been there before for a consultation and nothing was really done i was going to go to a different doctor this time but id idnt realize it til just now they dont do infertility

You can make an appt directly with the clinic without a referral. Yes, you need to consult a reproductive endocrinologist (RE for short) which is the infertility doctor. Unless you have some known medical condition, most will take you on as a patient when you have been ttc for 12 months with no success. I have been a surrogate 3x for infertile couples so while I cannot relate to your pain of infertility, I have been through some of the consults and process of doing IVF. The first thing they will do is do a battery of tests on you to see if it something fixable, like a hormone imbalance. And will also test your significant other's sperm to see if that is the problem. If those 2 things are fine then they go from there with some more invasive tests. I am so very sorry you are going through this and pray you will get some answers and soon will be pregnant.
