had sex I didnt bleed.
is that not supposed to happen.?

No, you don't have to bleed the first time. If proper care is taken and lubrication is used bleeding can be reduced to not at all.
Bleeding occurs due to tearing of the hymen or vaginal walls however, if the hymen was torn previously (riding a bike or horse or doing gymnastics can all tear it) then little bleeding could be expected. Also, some females experiment with masturbation long before they have intercourse which can help stretch the vagina so tearing is kept to a minimum. If your partner took his time (foreplay) so not to rush into things, this will also help prevent bleeding .
