Can I have unprotected sex while on B.C. if antibiotics I took made my period co!

Question:

Can I have unprotected sex while on B.C. if antibiotics I took made my period come early?

I took antibiotics from June 12-June 26 for a sinus infection. This caused my period to come about two weeks early. I am now off the antibiotics and am no longer on my period and have two pills left in this cycle of "on" pills until my period is expected (though since it came early I'm not expecting it). What I am wondering is whether if I have sex with my boyfriend -- no condom -- is my birth control going to be as active/effective as if I had never taken the antibiotics and my period had not come early?

I REPEAT: I am NO LONGER on antibiotics (it's been nearly a week since I took the last one) and am on my "on" birth control pills.

Answers:

I believe that you need to wait until you start the next active pills before you can have sex without added protection. I would call the doctor to be sure, but I think that it's the timing of the pills that you need to worry about instead of your cycle. You may also get a second light period this month.
