Problems with trying sex for the first time with my boyfriend?!

Question:

Problems with trying sex for the first time with my boyfriend?

I'll be blunt - it simply can't go in. It hurts without my boyfriend even trying, and I'm really worried about this. It's been similar when I've tried to use tampons during my period, it really hurts and I feel ill each time I try. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to make it hurt less and physically open up enough? Please help, thanks.

Forgot to add - I'm 17 and have been with my boyfriend for nearly a year now. Peer pressure doesn't have much of an effect on me, and I've decided I'm ready for sex only a few months ago. The only problem I think I have is not physically being ready. =/

Answers:

i had the same problem when i first started having sex, what i had to do was use lots of lubricant, i used ky jelly. also you dont want to just rush into it, try to have alot of foreplay(fingering, touching, kissing) which will make you more aroused and wet. it still might feel uncomfortable for the first time but really it does get better.
