Yes. For most women, the first time is slightly painful as the penis tears and/or stretches the hymen, though it is really nothing to worry about. Some girls' hymens tear from other things--horseback riding, etc. It is no big deal.

If you don't want to have sex until you are married, that is fine. You will have a few less worries.
