Alright, so the other day I had just bought a new lace thong and I wore it the whole day. I also decided to sleep wearing it and the past few days the inside of my vagina where the underwear sat has been incredibly itchy and irritated. I'm wondering if maybe the lace could have rubbed up against the skin so much and cut it or caused the irritation or perhaps something else?

You are correct. Also, thongs are the leading cause of yeast infections. Apply some Desitin. (It's the cream used on baby's bottoms) That will help with the soreness and wear PANTIES.
