Does having your period make yu tired?!

Question:

Does having your period make yu tired?

Answers:

Everybody's different, but yes, it can.

There's a lot going down there during your period. That part of your body is designed specifically for the purpose of making babies. Every month, it gets ready for you to make a baby. When you don't, it says, "Oh well. Better get ready for next month, just in case." So it shoves out the egg and the old lining and gets ready to make a new one.

You get physically tired when you jog or exercise. This is like exercise for your uterus. It gets tired because it's working hard, and it makes you tired because it's using your energy to do the work.

Someone before me said something about anemia and that's part of it, too. Losing blood means losing iron and other essential vitamins and minerals. That can leave you feeling tired and cranky.

The best way to combat that is to be especially good to your body during that time of the month. Eat healthy foods, get plenty of sleep, drink plenty of water, and get in some light exercise if you can. I wouldn't run a marathon or anything, but a walk will actually rejuvenate you.

Soaking in a warm (but not hot) bath will help relax your muscles down there as well, which will help ease the cramping some. Then at least maybe you won't feel so crappy.
