Question:

Menstrual cycle/ 28 days?

i know that not every menstrual cycle follows a 28 day pattern. but generally, does the 28 day pattern start again once the period begins or after the period ends. thank you.

thanks...now i have a funny question. is there anything to do to get your period sooner (specific exercise? warm baths?) i should be getting my period any day now, but i'm going to vacay in a few days and i would like to be finished.

i already knew about birth control, but i'm not on any now and i do not want to buy some just so i don't get my period.


Answers:

The period begins when the bleeding begins however you should not look at it as a starting point, but as a point within a circle. You could actually call the start point anywhere within the cycle and the end 28 days later. As far as controlling when you have your period, there are many things that affect the period to be delayed such as stress, but nothing you can really control. The only real way to control when you have a period is if you are on birth control pills. Many women who are going on a trip during there scheduled period will skip the placebo pills that month and thus skip their period that month.
