I was out of town today and ran out of tampons. I went into a bathroom at a gas station, put in a quarter only to find it was empty. The pads were also empty. I went into the stall to use toilet. Someone left a tampon on top of the metal trash container. It was not opened. I picked it up and debated using it. But all I could think about was someone puttting something in the tampon with a needle or something. That once inserted would make me very sick, or kill me. So I used the old stand by tp, since I would be home soon. Would you be afraid to use a tampon you found laying on the tin trash lid in the womens bathroom it was not opened?

No I would NEVER use an unguarded tampon like that. You made the right choice. Who knows where that thing had been!
