Girls only!!?!

Question:

Girls only!!?

i know i'm ready to start masturbating, but i'm very, very nervous!! (i'm 13).
i also don't feel comfortable telling my mom. so i am planning on trying it for the first time when i'm home alone. however, i'm not sure how to go about it. i know about using the shower head. but don't exactly know all the steps. how will i know if i have an orgasm? will it be messy? should i do it in my bed? am i too young?? please help!! i can't wait any longer. i'm really anxious to do it. (that's how i know i'm ready.)
will it interfere with school, or anything??

Answers:

Why are you nervous? Just explore your body and if something feels good then do it more. It isn't something that you need to tell your mom about unless you want to. There is nothing wrong with it, but some people are embarassed to talk about it. Try checking out your body when you are in bed. Find your clitoris, the sensitive part of your vaginal area by gently rubbing around. See what you like and what feels good. Shower heads do work well, but can be too rough. Tub faucets offer a gentler stream and you can do it lying down which is more relaxing and will let you feel things better. You will know you have an orgasm when you find that the more you rub a spot on your clitoris (on the outside--not inside of your vagina) the better it feels until it feels so good you can hardly breath. Then you are all sensitive and its over and you feel so good all over. It is not messy like with boys but you will be wet inside your vagina which you won't notice if you do it in the shower. Don't be discouraged if you don't have an orgasm right away. You probably will not unless you are unusually talented. Spend time exploring and seeing what feels good to you. Don't be anxious about it. It is a wonderful, normal, private thing that will teach you about your body and the wonderful things it can do.
