Women with PCOS....do they get rid of the cysts?
Is part of the treatment to get rid of the cysts? I just saw some pics of them online...pretty gross.. :(

Yes, but in many cases, such as mine the cysts can calcify and cause severe deformation to the ovaries and problems with fertility,etc. My doctors elected to do surgery because of the condition of my ovaries and the prevalence of cancer in my family so I had a total hysterectomy. At first I went through a surgery for removal of one ovary and a wedge of the other, but I refused a total hysterectomy because I wanted more children. Two years later after trying almost every affordable fertility drug I gave in and had the surgery. The doctor told me afterwards that my uterus had become quite deformed in just those two years.
