Birth Control Pill Side Effects?!

Question:

Birth Control Pill Side Effects?

what are the negative effects of the pill? can it cause infertility or any other major downfalls later in life? i'm considering getting on it soon, but i don't like the idea of something messing with my hormones like that... especially if it could be serious later down the road. Any help would be much appreciated. Or any other methods of birth control that would be safer? input please!

Answers:

If you are worried about the long term, stay away from the pill. It is a *very* little known fact that the World Health Organization (WHO) has classified the combined oral contraceptive pill (estrogen and progesterone combined) a Group 1 carcinogen (cancer causing) - connected to breast cancer, liver cancer, and cervical cancer. WHO placed the contraceptives into their Group 1 classification, the highest classification of carcinogenicity, used only "when there is sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in humans." The pill now joins the ranks of arsenic, inhaled asbestos and cigarette smoke.

A safer option would be anything that does not alter your body chemistry. Condoms are great (when used properly) for both pregnancy protection and STD protection. Condoms can get a little pricey, but you can buy them wholesale online for much cheaper (www.condomdepot.com). There are various other barrier options; such as a diaphragm, cervical cap, cervical sponge, etc. - but these can be somewhat inconvenient and don't offer much STD protection (although it may offer some because these methods block the cervix-a common area of infection).
