Oh my gosh! I am scared?

Okay, I think I am gonna start my period soon, because I have had vaginal discharge for almost 3 years. I just now had cramps, and they hurt soooo bad.
I have a couple questions in case I do start...
How do you keep track of your period?
Will it be irregular for several months?
How do you insert a tampon.

Your period will last anywhere from 3-7 days, it depends on each individual person. It is important to keep track, that way you know when to expect it. However, for the first few months/years your cycle might be irregular. I'm seventeen and my cycle is pretty irregular, but I know girls who have always gotten it on the same date every month, so like I said, it depends on your body. I found the best way to track it is by writing it down otherwise I always forget! (write down the date your period starts and count the days until your next period starts)
As for a tampon, they have instructions on the inside of the box. However, I think for your first period you might want to just use pads.
(I'm sure you already know this, but if you think you're going to get your period soon make sure you keep a pad with you at all times)
