Question:

I am 21.Recently i had an unprotected sex with my girlfriend.what can i do to avoid pregnancy?

I am 21.Recently i had an unprotected sex with my girlfriend.During the act i noticed water coming out of her vagina.Suddenly i pulled my penis out of her vagina.
I dont know whether i ejaculated my sperms inside her vagina. After the act i suggested her to wash her vagina properly. Can she get pregnant? One of my friend suggested my girlfriend to take pill 72 after unprotected sex?But i have a question that is it safe to take any pill without proper prescription or doctors guidence? What should we do?Do we have to wait for her periods?Or should she take any pill?Does urination after having unprotected sex reduce the chances of pregnancy? Is there any side effects of consuming pills in the near future?

Answers:

You are unlikely to get pregnant but she might. I am a little concerned about your level of sex education as it is well known that douching-washing out, after sex is useless as a method of contraception as is going to the loo! The morning after pill is safe and available both from GPs, family planning clinics and over the counter at £25. Though it can be taken at the latest 72 hours after intercourse it is best taken in the first 24 hours!

Please go and get some sex education! There are hundreds of on-line resources.
