What are these red and white pimple/bumps on my vaginal area and how do i get ri!

Question:

What are these red and white pimple/bumps on my vaginal area and how do i get rid of them?

I shave my pubic hair "on occasion" and I shave off every single hair, so now I have these red and white pimples/boils/bumps that kind of hurt and vary in size from fat to small. When I try to pop them a little bit of white /clear liquid comes out, but i stop b/c it hurts too much when I squeeze them too hard. They start on top and are on one of my vaginal lips and go down along that lip to just above my anus(as they go down, they get smaller and more frequent). Could it be that I shaved too hard on that side and went over it too many times? Also, i did not use shaving cream so is that a problem? How do i get rid of them and how long will they take to dissappear? Also, how do i prevent this from happening in the future? Could these bumos be from something else? IM NOT SEXUALLY ACTIVE AT ALL.

Answers:

Depeding on what they are, there are ways to treat and prevent them.

First off, they could easily be razorburn, ingrown hairs, or another kind of irritation. USE SHAVING CREAM! The purpose of shaving cream is to soften the hair and make it easier to remove. It also conditions the skin and makes it less irritable. Use a sensitive formula. Also, use a cleanser with 2% salicylic acid before and after you shave. It's basically the same ingredients as face wash. The salicylic acid will kill bad bacteria that can cause ingrown hairs. And always shave with a new, clean razor blade and shave in the direction of hair growth.

Secondly, they could be clogged sweat glands. You have sebacious glands all over your body, and sometimes they get dirt and oil in them, which can really irritate them. Try washing with the 2% salicylic acid wash every day. And if you can, keep something like Playtex's personal wipes in your purse with you. Try to freshen up a couple of times a day, which should help.

If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesistate to call your dermatologist. Or, if you're more comfortable, you could see your Ob/Gyn, too. They could give you some pointers and/or prescribe you something a little more potent to help knock the problems out.

Hope this helps!
