I have decided to get off the depo shot after almost 3 years. What can I expect coming off of it?

I hate it. I feel so dirty not having a period. Plus my husband and I are thinking of having another baby. I am due for it on July 11 but I am not getting it or any other birth control. But I have heard horror stories of people coming off of it. And how long would it take me to get pregnant after coming off of it?

It might take you a few months to get your period back to normal because your body is so used to the hormones in the shot. You probably will be moody, and your period will probably be very irregular, and could either be very spotty or really heavy. Talk to your doctor to see if there's anything to help you with the symptoms or get it back again quicker.
