Pelvis MRI showing Ovary cyst?!

Question:

Pelvis MRI showing Ovary cyst?

I had a pelvis MRI and they said they found "right ovary with cystic lesion and fluid seen in the right hemipelvis" What could this be? A functional cyst? Or something more serious?

Answers:

From personal experience, I can tell you this is very normal. A lot of women have something know as Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). It just means that you have more cysts on your ovaries than women without PCOS. If you are concerned, you see your gyno and they can rule out an problems. Also PCOS have become more and more common in women today.
