Answers:

People do lose up to 100 hairs a day, but the bald spots are a little weird.

How is your diet?

You make some proteins in your body, but not all of the ones you need, and thus it's important to get a lot of the amino acids you don't produce naturally. Your hair is made of protein -- but many other bodily processes need protein. If you're not getting enough protein, your body prioritizes; after all, it's more important to keep you alive than to keep your hair growing! It's nice to stay alive AND have a full head of hair, though, so make sure that you get enough protein.

How much protein should you be getting? If you eat meat, at least 2 card decks' worth a day. If you don't, make sure you get all your essential amino acids. The ball park amount is 40-50 grams a day (more if you're a serious athlete).

Biotin might also help. You can find a supplement at pretty much any drugstore.

Since this has happened to you a lot, I suggest that you talk to a dermatologist or a hair loss specialist. He or she might have some good ideas for you, and can discuss hair growth procedures if necessary.

Good luck!
