Answers:

Begin taking ibuprofen several days before you know your period is going to start. Kind of heads the pain off at the pass. And keep taking it regularly until you know you are past the day or two when the cramps are the worst.

A hot shower with the water hitting your abdomen feels fabulous if you are at home and have the time.

The Thermacare heating pads are wonderful for when you are on the go. If at home, a heating pad or hot water bottle can feel good.

It's just the warmth that seems to help. If you have a small dog or cat, it can actually feel good to have them lie on your stomach!

If they are really bad, contact your doctor and/or his or her nurse, and ask about the dosages on the ibuprofen. You can actually sometimes take more than the dose recommended on the bottle, but you need to consult your physician about this first.

And yes, exercise does help! A brisk walk can do wonders.
